Your idea, developed in cork
A new product may begin with a sketch, a sample, a functional challenge or the ambition to introduce a different material into an existing design.
At 3DCORK, we work with brands, designers and product development teams to explore how cork can meet their objectives. We bring together material knowledge, technical development and manufacturing to turn initial concepts into products ready for production.
Projects we can support
New products developed from an initial concept;
Adaptation of existing designs to cork;
Components integrated into products made with other materials;
Custom shapes, textures, colours and branding;
Product ranges developed around a shared design language;
Prototypes and samples for technical and visual evaluation.
Defining the project
We start by understanding the intended use, design priorities, dimensions, target quantities and commercial objectives.
Together, we assess the material options, geometry and manufacturing approach. This early review helps identify practical adjustments to wall thickness, edges, assembly and finishing before investing in tooling or production.
Materials, prototypes and refinement
We explore cork densities, granule sizes and formulations, including combinations with other materials where appropriate.
Drawings, 3D models and physical prototypes help refine the design and assess appearance, handling, fit and function. Feedback from this stage guides the adjustments needed before approving the final specifications.
Preparing for serial production
Once the design is approved, we define the tooling, production methods, finishes and quality requirements appropriate to the project.
Our manufacturing capabilities include moulding, CNC machining, cutting, turning and finishing. We support the transition from approved sample to repeat production, with specification control and production traceability.
Start with what you have
You do not need a complete technical brief to begin. Share your idea, reference images, drawing or sample, together with the intended use and estimated quantities.
Our team will help identify the next steps and assess how your project can be developed in cork.
